NEWS FROM GEOFF and JANE

Dear Friend,

We are writing to you today on our 57th wedding anniversary and we are so thankful to our God for His great salvation!  We feel incredibly blessed by Him, not only the fact that we came to faith in Christ within a week of each other back in 1978, that He has guided us through a multitude of challenging situations over the last 45 years, but also for the way He continuously excites us for what is ahead!   How wonderful that, as the psalmist writes in Ps 92, we can be anointed with fresh oil and flourish with fruitfulness –  even in old age!  Not that we admit to that age bracket!

The Lord has blessed us so much, not only with our great family – 4 amazing adult offspring, 10 grandchildren, soon to be 11, but also we are part of a brilliant home church, and are blessed with an ongoing itinerant ministry.

We are so thankful to God for CLC (Christian Life Centre St Helens) and the various ways we can serve the body of Christ there. A highlight of Geoff’s week is the Wednesday lunchtime men’s meeting where men, from all walks of life come together to give prayerful support and encouragement.

For myself, Jane,I have felt led by the Lord to visit Hope House, a place of support for the homeless and vulnerable in the St Helens area.  Every week my aim, and challenge, is to seek to encourage, build relationship and trust with those who are there.  I am able to share the gospel and pray for those who are open, and I am believing for God to manifest His supernatural presence in that place.   It has been so encouraging to see a couple of men come along to the men’s meeting and to church, but I am praying for much more!

Incidentally, one of our church leaders, Philip Fell, has recorded some podcasts in which we chat together about our lives and ministry. He  is making these podcasts available over the next few weeks.  The first one is available now on Youtube – more to come! You can see these on the CLC St Helens You Tube channel.

We continue to serve  Family Church Billinge. Geoff usually ministers there one Sunday a month, plus he meets with the eldership several times a month, as we support them as they navigate  a time of change.  A couple of weeks ago Geoff and the elders took time out together for a day of reflection and seeking the Lord for the next season.

We are also blessed with a growing relationship with the Filipino network of churches, JCIM, and have ministered in a number of their churches in Liverpool, St Helens, Derby and Burton on Trent.   We love their passion for Christ, their heartfelt worship times, and the way the presence of God is so evident.

Our latest exciting news is that we have been invited by Smith Wigglesworth’s great-granddaughter, Lillian de Fin, to preach at Bowland Street Mission in Bradford.  Bowland Street is the original church where Smith Wigglesworth began his ministry.

We first heard Lillian minister at a Revival Fires conference in Dudley about 6 years ago, and recently Geoff felt led to review the recordings of that conference. As a result, we contacted Lillian to see if we could visit.  We met last week, had a wonderful time of prayer together at the church, followed by fellowship over a meal, sharing hearts and lives.

The backstory to our visit is that we have been incredibly blessed by Smith Wigglesworth books over the years, and for the last few years we have been regularly inspired and challenged through the Smith Wigglesworth Devotional book.

We are increasingly aware of growing expectation in many believers of a fresh season of Holy Spirit anointing. Could this be as a result of the increase in prayerfulness and consecration as we seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness.  We seem to have developed a bit of a “mantra” at LSM  that  suggests that “The Holy Spirit can only fill what the Blood has cleansed”.  In other words “Consecration leads to impartation”.

I am giving you a few of our diary dates below, and you will see we are due to speak at Bradford on 16th March – what an honour!! ….. much prayer needed!!

On a different note the header picture shows us together on our Kawasaki Versyr 1000 during a trip to the Lake District last year.  We will soon be heading out together again as the weather improves.  However Geoff is taking three days away next week to ride together around mid Wales with our son Tom.  They don’t seem to mind it being chilly!!!!

Love and blessings
