Dear Friend,
We are so thankful to God for His ongoing direction and blessing in our lives, and to you, for your prayerful support! Our ministry season seems to be going from strength to strength, but just being busy is not our aim! Please pray for doors to open as directed by the Lord, and for us to be fruitful and effective. In fact, we feel we need that prayer support even more in these days, as the Lord seems to be opening up new areas of revelation and a quickening sense of His purpose in our lives.
Israel – The Feast of Tabernacles
We have just returned from our first visit to Israel – we booked to go for the Feast of Tabernacles with the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem – and it was an amazing ten days of visiting significant biblical sites in the day, and then attending excellent meetings in the evening. It was wonderful to be there! Representatives from over 100 nations were gathered for the Feast of Tabernacles bringing Zechariah 14:16 to life!
“And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.”
We experienced wonderful worship times, being blessed through various international ministries – all demonstrating great humility and maturity in the Lord.
We felt it was a tremendously significant time for us, and even more so as the Hamas attack began on the very morning that our flight home was booked. In fact the ICEJ tour took us to a kibbutz at Sederot on the Thursday, where we heard various key people (eg. the local major, an ex-general, army commanders etc, and also a powerful presentation by a lady who lived in the kibbutz), talk about the challenges of life in that area – a place alongside the Gaza border. How shocked we were to hear that some of these people we had met 36 hours before had now been killed on the Saturday morning.
On that Saturday morning we experienced the need to take cover in the equivalent of a bomb shelter area within the hotel, moving in and out a number of times. We also needed to make a speedy exit from the coach conveying us to Tel Aviv airport when a siren sounded the alarm. Hopefully the last time we will ever have to lie down and take cover on the pavement praying for protection!
Our visit to Israel was prompted not only by a desire that many believers will have, to visit the land where Jesus Christ lived and moved and had His being, but also through a very unexpected prophetic word we received a few months earlier. We have quite a ‘back story’ to our current journey of exploring the purposes of God for Israel and the church, but that is for another day maybe.
Mentoring
Geoff is continuing to mentor some local leaders, as well as being involved with the men’s group in our home church. As part of this he went with the pastor and 3 other men to the Isle of Arran in late August – a time of bonding and sharing hearts, building each other up in faith in Christ.
If you would be interested in Geoff’s book on “The Father’s Heart in Coaching and Mentoring” we do still have copies available for purchase – contact us if you would like to know more.
LSM Ministry
We have been blessed over the past few months through our connection with a Filipino network here in the north west of England, the Jesus Christ International Ministry. We have been honoured to minister with them in Liverpool on a number of occasions, the most recent one being invited as speakers for their Prayer Day.
We now look forward to further developing our relationship with JCIM with dates for Geoff to speak at an anniversary meeting in the Filipino church in St. Helens, and also for us both to minister to their Bible School students in the near future (see diary dates).
A few years ago we produced a manual entitled “Free for Life” which basically covers all we have learnt and ministered on this essential topic of helping people find more freedom in their lives. The leaders at our home church, CLC St Helens, have invited us to present a 6 week course based on this resource, starting on Monday 23rd October. The aim is that everyone can discover how to get free of the blockages in their lives, and also learn and be equipped to help others also. It is encouraging for us that other church leaders are also showing quite an interest in this manual, in which we share our teaching.
Forthcoming ministry dates
23 October–27 November Free for Life course each Monday at CLC St Helens
28 October Induction of Rev Felix Appiah at Clapham Elim church
29 October Elim Pentecostal Church Lewisham
12 November JCIM St Helens – Filipino church
25 November JCIM Liverpool – Bible school
26 November Elim Prescott
2 December JCIM Liverpool – Bible school
Pillion Riding!
On a personal note, I Jane, have been following Geoff very closely recently …. as a pillion passenger on his motorbike!!!. A very bright green Kawasaki ER6F for those who are interested! God seems to have given both of us that adventuring spirit – though I must admit getting on and off the bike does seem a bit challenging at times! Apparently he is looking at the Scottish North Coast 500 for a spring trip next year – oh dear!!
Please do keep in touch. Clearly we are all living in very significant times in God’s plans for the world. Sending our love and praying God’s blessings upon you,
Geoff and Jane
